Outwit, Outlive and Outlast
the Global Downturn!

The National Family Council reaches out to families, beyond employers and working people, to upturn the downturn together.

To strengthen communication and engagement within families so that family members stand by each other to ride through the rough waters together in unity, the National Family Council (NFC) launched a Family Resilience Series talks named "Outwit, Outlive and Outlast the Global Downturn", together with NTUC U Family.

NFC's Chairperson Mr. Lim Soon Hock said, "Trying times, such as the financial downturn that we are going through, highlight the importance of investing in the most precious asset that we have, can depend on most, and trust for support - our families. Through the talks, families can pick up useful tips on how to cope with the financial crisis and how to help members who are affected by the downturn. The talks serve as a timely reminder that we can overcome any challenge when our family foundations remain strong and resilient. Keeping family bonds strong and investing our time and energy in our family is a continual lifelong process. It must be our number one priority. At all times, we should make conscious efforts to reinforce our family foundation that is built on love, care, support and growth."

The talks, targeted at working people and their families, seek to empower individuals and their spouses with the relevant skills to better cope with the difficult times and emerge stronger and more resilient. This series cover three topics on building resilience to cope with the downturn - family, personal, and financial resilience. This is a first-of-its-kind talk in Singapore on upturning the downturn for families.
